The Anchor Program Fund is the charitable, nonprofit organization that was established to accept and use donations to maintain and further support programs, fund special activities and events, as well as the necessary supplies and equipment for individuals with disabilities participating under the Town of Hempstead’s Camp A.N.C.H.O.R Program.

Camp A.N.C.H.O.R
Camp A.N.C.H.O.R is a comprehensive, year-round program that serves thousands of children and adults with special needs who live in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County Long Island.
George to the Rescue comes to Camp ANCHOR
When COVID-19 left our Non-profit strapped for donations, George to the Rescue with the help of the Nassau County PBA and other volunteers stepped in!! Watch how they surprised our campers with a mini Golf course renovation!!!
Inside the 50 year Old Camp for Children & Adults with Special Needs
Camp Anchor is a camp for children with special needs that has been based out on Long Island, New York, for the past 50 years. Programs and Services
Volunteer Programs
The Town of Hempstead accepts volunteers for 4 of their programs: Bowling, Swimming, Saturday Recreation and the 6-week Summer Camp.
Summer Camp
The Town of Hempstead's Camp A.N.C.H.O.R offers a 6-week summer recreation program for all participants. Offering activities in sports, arts & crafts, home economics, drama, ocean, pool, clubs, dance, music, equine therapy, surfing, etc.
FWS Programs
Throughout the fall/winter/spring season, the Town of Hempstead ANCHOR Program presents an enriching and encompassing schedule of recreational activities on weeknights and Saturdays. Residents with special needs, five years of age and older, are eligible to participate.
